Linux dedicated server Load Balanced Servers Cluster consists of multiple servers which distribute the website/application load among them in order to achieve maximum scalability and superior performance. This technique of load distribution evenly among a group of servers is known as server load balancing. Load balancing distributes traffic efficiently among the group of servers and ensures that no individual server is overburdened.

Most of the businesses these days are done on the internet and are based on the principle of 24×7 availability to the world through websites, as the website become popular it is more prone to heavy traffic thus resulting in downtime  in a  simpler word the server is not able to handle the number of visitors in the site. Now that’s were load balancing comes in a picture.

Load balancing is a technique that distributes the load of the website equally among two or more servers in order to maintain the speed as well as performance of the server .Busy website can employ two or more web server for load balancing, so that a single server is not overloaded and the information is available to the user at the same time.

Load balancing servers are used by those companies who deals with extensive information and where larger no of visitors are visiting the website at a given period of time. Social networking site, online shopping are examples where load balancing serves can be deployed.

For the organisation to install, a load balancing network, a dedicated server is set up in a network administered by load balancer to distribute the load among the various server.

Load balancing helps the organisation to handle large volume of traffic, ensure continuous availability of website and prevent from unplanned downtime because a good load balancer need to cope with the failure one server by shifting the work to another server in simple word if one server goes for a toss then the work /load is transferred to another server in the cluster so that the performance and speed is not affected.

Who need load balancing ?

  • Organisation who wants to ensure high and continuous operation of the business.
  • Orgnisation who’s website are visited by numerous visitors.
  • Organisation who want to reduce their loss because of downtime
  • Organisation who want to improve their user performance.

Why businesses needs load balancing?

There are various reasons for implementing the load balance to our website

  • Response time: load balancing technique divide the traffic between the server and the information/data/resources are sent and received without any delay and hence reduces the response time.
  •  Redundancy: load balancing redundancy by increasing effective network utilisation and maximum throughput.
  • Scalability:  scalability refers to how well the website handle increasing traffic and request by implementing load balancing the website can add resources to its servers without disturbing the performance of the website and increasing workload is taken care.
  • Improve user satisfaction: implementing of load balancing in a website improves user satisfaction as the website is always available to the customer there is less downtime and the user can receive data without any delay.
